WHAT IS SOMATIC RELEASE BREATHWORK (SRBW)?

Somatic Breathwork is an embodiment experience. It takes you out of your thinking mind and into your body’s electrical network. It lets you release unneeded energy within this network caused by repeating thoughts, feelings, and old narratives by discharging it out through your body.

Somatic Breathwork employs circular connected breathing coupled with rhythmic music to produce a cathartic emotional release. This release may be in the form of moving, shaking, yelling, crying, or laughing. Using the breath, you will engage your innate ability to heal and sweep out any defenses, blockages, restrictions, or pains that hold you back from who you are and how you want to show up in this world.

THINGS YOU MIGHT EXPERIENCE IN A SRBW SESSION:

Physical sensations: You may feel tingling, shaking, or twitching in various parts of your body as tension is released. This is a normal and expected part of the process.

Emotional release: As you breathe deeply and focus on your body, you may become aware of repressed emotions or past traumas. This can result in strong emotional responses, such as crying or feeling overwhelmed.

Increased body awareness: By paying attention to your physical sensations and breathing, you may become more aware of how tension is stored in your body. This can help you identify patterns of holding and tension, and develop tools to release them in the future.

Relaxation: After a breathwork session, many people report feeling relaxed and refreshed. Deep breathing and focus on the body can help calm the nervous system, reducing stress and promoting a sense of well-being.

It's important to note that everyone's experience with somatic release breathwork will be different. Some people may have strong emotional or physical releases, while others may feel a more subtle shift. The most important thing is to approach the session with an open mind and a willingness to explore your inner experience.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE BENEFITS OF SRBW?

Stress reduction: By focusing on the breath and becoming more aware of bodily sensations, somatic release breathwork can help lower stress levels and improve overall well-being.

Improved emotional regulation: This type of breathwork can help individuals identify and process emotions that may be stored in the body, leading to improved emotional regulation and a greater sense of calm.

Physical relaxation: Controlled breathing can stimulate the relaxation response, helping to release physical tension and reducing symptoms of conditions such as muscle pain and headaches.

Increased energy: By releasing stored tension, somatic release breathwork can increase energy levels and improve overall vitality.
